Welcome to the Vertigo 3D Words Tryout. Use this Tryout to bring real 3D text to Adobe® Illustrator® in a flash. Position the word “Vertigo 3D” along the path of your choice, choose a font, color the letters, change your camera view, then add the word to your Adobe Illustrator document.
This is a Tryout. Full versions of Vertigo 3D Words allow you to create your own text.

INSTALLING THE VERTIGO 3D WORDS TRYOUT
To install the Vertigo 3D Words Tryout:
1. Make sure Adobe Illustrator 7.0 and QuickDraw 3D 1.5.1 are installed.
2. Double-click the Words Tryout Installer icon. An introduction dialog appears.
3. Click Continue. The Words Installer Tryout dialog appears. If you have more than one copy of Adobe Illustrator on your machine, or if you have multiple volumes, you may have to specify an install location.
4. Click the Install button. Vertigo 3D Words is copied to your Adobe Illustrator Plug-ins folder. Once installation is complete, a "successful installation" dialog appears. You can choose to perform additional installations, or quit Words Installer.
5. Click Quit when you're finished.
VERTIGO 3D WORDS TRYOUTIN 10 EASY STEPS
1. Install Vertigo 3D Words Tryout using the installation instructions above.
2. Launch Adobe Illustrator and open the image you want to add 3D text to.
3. From the Window menu, choose Vertigo, then choose Show 3D Words.
4. To change your font or get a new path, use the Font and Path pop-up menus to choose new selections.
5. To change your 3D text color, click the Color swatch to open the Color Picker. Choose a new color and click OK.
6. To position your 3D text on the path, click the arrows in the Move or Rotate boxes, choose a pre-set value, or enter a value and press Return.
Note: If the Move and Rotate boxes aren't displayed, position the pointer over the triangle in the upper right corner of the Vertigo 3D Words palette, and hold down the mouse button. Drag to choose Show Options from the palette menu.
7. To change 3D text depth (thickness) and tracking (the space between characters), click the arrows in the Depth and Tracking boxes, or enter a value and press Return.
8. To move the camera, click one of the four camera icons, then drag in the workspace.
9. Use the Camera View pop-up menu to choose pre-set views and set custom camera views.
10. To place your 3D text in your Adobe Illustrator document, click the Place 3D Text button.
For online Help, position the pointer over the triangle in the upper right corner of the palette, hold down the mouse button, then drag to choose Help... from the palette menu.
If you have trouble using Vertigo 3D Words, make sure you have the right QuickDraw 3D extensions installed in your System Folder. You can install QuickDraw 3D from the QuickDraw 3D folder found within the Vertigo 3D Words folder.
